  Exostosis vs Synostosis
#1

Girl 2 years old, recently parents noticed a tight mass on their chest and went to the surgeon, the surgeon recommended radiography but, as they said, it was not performed for unknown reason. Therefore, the surgeon sent them to ultrasound with the assumption of exostosis.

At ultrasound on the front surface of the left half of thorax, near the sternum, the area of convergence of the ribs with an upward lift and further their divergence is visualized, by the type of the letter X. Recommended CT / MRI.

PS. I immediately remembered Lushka' s fork (Luschka' s bifurcated rib), but it was not like it. Perhaps this is a synostosis.
