Air in the renal CLS, nephrostomy
#1

An infant in the neonatal pathology department of the Children's City Hospital with a catheter in the pelvis (nephrostomy), a control ultrasound of the kidneys was prescribed for the position of the catheter and etc.

On ultrasound, echogenic point inclusions with a "comet's tail" artifact (reverberation) are observed in the kidney collecting system (CLS), in one of the sections a retrograde urine flow with even smaller echogenic inclusions is seen (retrograde flow with an air through the catheter into the renal CLS).
