  Patent ductus arteriosus(PDA)
#1

Or Botallo duct patency, congenital heart disease caused by the existence of prenatal arterio-venous shunt between the thoracic aorta(ThAo, arterial blood) and the pulmonary artery(PA, venous blood) after birth. Botallo duct is normal before birth because at fetal circulation lungs do not work and blood of PA goes straight to ThAo. After birth when the lungs began to work, the shunt should close.

Two cases of PDA presented: newborn(files 1-2) and 10 years old patient(files 3-4).
