  Postoperative suture complication
#1

Child 10 years old - 2 weeks after appendectomy in another hospital, came to the emergency department with complaints of pain in the postoperative area.

    Visually postoperative area is oedematous.

At ultrasound in projection of this area visualized hyperechoic thickened deep layer of subcutaneous fat (oedema/panniculitis - attachments 1,2 in contrast with contralateral side - attachment 3, transition area - attachment 4) with anechoic areas (fluid), presumably rejection(foreign body reaction) of the suture material(threads).
