  Cheek edema
#1

A teenager with cheek edema was admitted to the emergency department of the Children's City Clinical Hospital & was urgently sent for an ultrasound scan of soft tissues of corresponding area with suspected diagnosis of an abscess.

According to the patient words, there was initially a pimple in the corner of his mouth, which he was combing.

On ultrasound, there is a thickening of the increased echogenicity (edema?) subcutaneus fat with increased blood flow on the ED.
