A newborn girl, whose clinical examination revealed enlargement of both mammary glands, was sent to a surgeon and then urgently for an ultrasound.
Visually, both mammary glands are enlarged in size, slightly bluish in color, and nipple retraction is noted.
On ultrasound, in the projection of both mammary glands, a pronounced increase in the glandular component is visualized with increased blood flow on the CFM (differential diagnosis: a. mastitis, etc.).
An urgent consultation with a mammologist is recommended.
