The child in the public clinic is directed to an abdomen ultrasound with complaints of subfebrile condition and periodic abdominal pain.
On ultrasound, an anechogenic lesion without blood flow at CFM is visualized along the diaphragmatic surface of the liver, moving without a clear connection both with the liver and with the diaphragm (cyst on pedicle?).
In the literature, in particular, in the book - A.Yu. Vasiliev, E.B. Olkhova. Ultrasound diagnostics in pediatric practice - 2007 - indicates that diaphragm cysts have a similar to liver cysts appearance and, for this reason, are often mistaken for liver cysts. The localization of the diaphragm cyst in the illustration in this book is almost identical to that in this case. However, the independent movement of lesion during breathing does not allow to make this diagnosis.
The patient was hospitalized in one of the Moscow hospitals, where a second ultrasound scan was carried out, by the results of which was made a diagnosis of liver cyst.
On the follow-up ultrasound after 1 year the lesion was not visualized ...
